Tribes Aerial Assault - Online Setup Guide
by: lordnikon
Tribes Aerial Assault's master list was shutdown by Sierra Online in 2008. That same month, we at onlineconsoles emulated a master list to restore convenient online play for Tribes on the PS2.
Onlineconsoles hosts a master list for Tribes Aerial Assault, along with the necessary DNS server to redirect your PS2.

1. Configuration
Create a new network configuration on your PS2 specifically for Tribes.
In this config, set the Primary DNS Server to the following IP Address:
142.4.223.231
The secondary IP Address can be set to: 0.0.0.0

2. Test the Connection
Connect online using this new configuration. If successful, you will see a dummy server in the master list named "master server" with a map titled "not a server".
3. Host a match
Currently the best way to play Tribes Aerial Assault is by hosting from the PS2 console. Due to the low player counts online the ability to add bots is very beneficial towards providing an active online experience with lots of targets.
4. LAN Mode
TribesAA has a LAN mode, but it is not accessed from a menu option.
When you go online with TribesAA and progress to the view that displays servers, it will detect and show both online servers and local servers running on your LAN. This means, even if Tribes cannot reach an online master list, you can still network servers locally.
