The cool thing about GameSpy accounts is that you can change anything related to your account, and everything still stays the same. Last night I was getting all these new online games I got setup properly. Midnight Club 3 wouldn't let me use brackets. In my gamespy account I had [oc] on my name. So I decided to go in and change it, and risk losing my swbf stats. I had a "guess" that it would work out ok, but didn't know if it would for sure.
I changed my name to just plain old "lordnikon". My friends list, and stats for all my other games remained intact. This is great because I have all of my gamespy games synchronized to a single account. So my buddy list is universal. I would recommend others do the same as well. Not every game allows for the same character inputs, like I ran into with MC3. So, I think it is great that you can change your username without it adversly affecting your account. If you ever need to edit your account just log in to gamespy.com or fileplanet.com to edit your account settings. |
