In a recent interview betwen psxnation and Guerrilla Games we gain some answers to many questions that have been crossing all of our minds lately. The gameplay photos you have seen on this site and others, are real-time in game action snapshots. Not pre-rendered stills.

Although they just started work on this game in early 2002, Guerrilla has been learning the inner workings of the PS2 for over 2 whole years. They concentrated on their game engine, along with their multilayer texturing system. This system allows for an enormous ammount of detal at close range. The engine draws multiple layers of tiny textures one on top of the other.

Killzone's overall look and feel pulls from major theatres of war from the 20th century. They chose to compile many features from various time periods to influence their futuristic universe. The most prominant symbol of the Helghast soldier is the full face mask, which was inspired by the gas masks of WW1.

+Killzone will support Dolby Prologic 2
+There will be no playable vehicles in Killzone
+Computer A.I. CPU teamates can carry out decissions on their own base don the given situation and the orders you give
+guns have a solid, convincing feel firing real bullets

Guerrilla Games did not reveal any details on Killzon's online features at this time, they have a development team working on this right now, so they do not have any concrete features to public present yet.
