Topic: is possible to play ntsc-j games online with pal ps2? (king of fighters,garou..)

It is not possible due to the DNAS authentication system. Also just FYI all of SNK's fighting games were recently shutdown. Furthermore they were only designed for people playing against each other in close proximity. Meaning Tokyo. I got online with the games with an official Japanese PS2 and official copies (have to sign up for KDDI service) and actually got some matches to play, but they always timed out or had serious slowdown issues. | ||||

Actually you can if you have a modded PS2 and play a backup copy. You DNAS patch it and NTSC-PAL patch it for region differences and it will work. Be sure to own the actual copy though. They might have ping issues though like Lord Nikon said. (As long as the servers are still up) | ||||

I played against another player who was in the US on KOF XI, and the lag was worse than playing against someone in Japan. The data travels through the central server rather than from user to user. | ||||
