Hi,

I have some questions regarding a PS2 keyboard and voice communicator. I hear that Socom supports the voice communicator, so i want to pick one up, but, do any other games support it? If not, where can I get a keyboard? I'd like to have both, just incase some games support one or the other, but, I dont know which KB or Voice Mic to buy. I'd like to get both for under $40 if possible. So, the low down,

1: What games support the keyboard and/or the voice mic?
2: Should I get a keyboard, a mic, or both?
3: Which keyboard/mic do you recommend?
4: Can I get both for under $40? If not, which should I get first?

Thanks!

info for the headset, copied striat off the playstation website:

A few upcoming compatible titles:
SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs
Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain
NFL GameDay 2004
NBA ShootOut 2004
NCAA GameBreaker 2004
…and many more to be announced

info for the kb, right off the logitech site.

EverQuest® Online Adventures
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force
Soldier of Fortune®
Red Faction® 2
Rune Viking Warlord™
Half-Life
Unreal™ Tournament

i also think some of the ea sports games use the headset. theres alot more games that support each, but these are the most reciently relieced.
you dont need to get a ps2 specific keyboard or anything. any usb one works. i steal my sisters when i play tmb:o. but gamestop has a real slick black one for 1999. its logitech too.

The only keyboard I can find from Gamestop is the Datel Powerboard, for $19.99 and that works, I guess. I don't care.

So, $20 for a keyboard and probably $30 for a mic....that's $50 but it'd be nice to have both just incase certain games support one or the other.

NO NO NO NO NO do NOT get the DATEL powerboard. I REPEAT do NOT get the powerboard. Go and get a standard PC based USB keyboard. The Datel Board is complete garbage. You can put any USB PC keyboard in the PS2. I repeat...do NOT get a datel powerboard hehe.

They fit? The USB ports on the PS2 seem a little...small...

How much is a standard USB keyboard, or a PS/2 to USB converter (for PS/2 keyboards?)

Yea the PS2 USB ports are standard USB just like on a PC. Also i'm not sure wether a PS/2 to USB convertor works on the Playstation 2. Though they would only be a few bucks to pick up.

You could get any standard USB keyboard, I think you can get a cheapo Memorex kb at best buy or something for 15-20 bux. WAY better than the datel.

*lordnikon claps* sweetness, anything is better than the datel kb's. They break very easy and sticky keys happens regularly. Any regular PC USB keyboard ownz compared to the datel.

Has anyone tried using a PS/2 keyboard with a USB adapter? I don't wanna have to run out and buy another keyboard (in addition to my PSO one) just so I can chat via keyboard on the PS2. I'd like to be able to use my one keyboard for both the GC and PS/2...
