whats the diff between a hub and a router?

A router, if I recall correctly, does IP masquerading (sp?), it'll assigns IPs on it's own subdomain to computers that are connected to it. The cable modem sees only one IP, that of the router. A hub, however, just splits a connection. The cable modem (or any modem, really) will actually see TWO (or more, depending on how many machines are plugged in) separate IPs and you'll actually have to pay for the two separate accounts.
