If you don't know what I mean, I just took a look at my Def Jam Fight for NY manual...the thing is friggin' 9 pages long, what the hell is up with that. I remember game manuals being 20-40 pages long. Need for Speed UnderGround 2 onl has about 13 pages. The cases feel light as hell. Is it just the particular games or is EA getting real cheap...lol Last edited by DRBagabundo on Thu Nov 18, 2004 10:58 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Oh yea, I've noticed, and the lack of color manuals is annoying too.

yeah black and white manuals suck... once and a while you will still find a long one.. its probably short becasue most games put a walkthough turtorial on how to play at the beginning of the game.

Yeah, I've noticed that too.
I don't know if publisher still does it , but Working Designs is known for big colorful manuals (granted they are known for doing RPG's ) Some manuals seem to be just saying "Put the game in AND press Start" j/k |

If you take a look at Super Smash Brothers Melee (GC) and Sonic Adventure 2 (GC), they have decent manuals (one of them is in excess of 50 pages I believe!). I don't have any EA games, so I can't comment about it being an EA issue; though I suspect it is because I haven't noticed smaller manuals. Then again, I hardly ever read the manual.. |

I remember my Gran Turismo (original one) manual. It gave a 2 disc case because it was so big.
Manuals might be getting smaller but their need is increasingly pointless. |

I consider manuals to be a part of the overall game (package)...if they start taking them out for lack of hard-copy instructions, meaning everything is in-game, well...yeah, it would be weird. I care as much for the manuals as I do the case and actual game disc, which is way I always try to get games complete if I buy 'em used.

I've noticed that a lot of publishers offer game manuals online for gamers to download.
