Amplitude lives though. I never had a full version of Frequency, but I would like to play some more Amplitude. I'll come I guess. Can you put it on the schedule? | ||||

This bites the big one, but I can't say I didn't see it coming. The declining playerbase and the future online titles from Sony just further cement this.
I might try and make it to the FreQnet funeral just to remember the good times. -Mytho |

Ding! This is why, I get so hung up about LAN...
Well, I will be hopping onto Frequency some this week. I will organize a game or something for those that have it, and we can hang out and chat, and play some tunes. Props to BlingShyne for reporting this. |

Yea Frequency's online actually is on the first wave of PS2 startup discs. The retail version of Frequency is not online compatible in and of itself. But instead is like a massive expansion pack for the online game featured on the demo.
Amplitude is like, the big huge sequal to Frequency and really took that game to new levels. But for many Frequency was the first title they took online with their PS2's and also used it to chat with friends and communicate. I remember hanging out back in 2003 with Koda and HateCrimeTexas chatting and playing. It's really sad to see it go offline, and also shows that nothing is sacred once again. Any game can get taken offline, and eventually when the companies see fit to do so, they will. I know you guys think I am a LAN nazi sometimes (hehehe LAN nazi...), but eventually these games will just start dropping one by one. But, taking a look at our current LAN list, it is pretty heart warming seeing a decent and well rounded selection of games with LAN capabilities. It is sad to see Frequency go. I am going to be making a concerted effort to play in the next 7 days. If you own the game hop online and check it out some, and if you are on jabber let me know and we can hook up to play. |

I knew this was bound to happen. Sure, Amplitude is also great, but Frequency was one of the first few games of mine that I truely enjoyed from this generation of consoles.
The real thing is, Frequency was THE game that made me get my PS2 online. May 9th will be a sad day, indeed. Let us know, nikon - I'm up for some final games this weekend on FreQNet. |
