Well, as if enough online games for the PS2 havn't been pushed back already. We get dealt yet another blow. Syphon Filer: Omega Strain gets censored. Certain true events in history have inspired some of the game scenarios from Omega Strain. Certain governmental bodies were not too happy about this.

Canada came forth with objections to a mission in which you must thwart terrorists from sieging a Toronto Transit subway station. Also the name used fo rthe in-game terrorist's matches the exact name of a group called the Quebec Liberation Front, which happened to kidnap and murder a regional official back in the 1970's.

Sony responded stating, "We deeply regret any misunderstanding this may have caused. The product in its current state is being withdrawn and the production version worldwide will contain no component related to the Quebec separatist adventure."

Syphon Filter: Omega Strain was scheduled to be released in early January, however now it looks as if this date will have to pull changed. The game must be edited and a large mission eliminated or removed from the game.

So I guess just covering up such past event's in history and never representing them in media formats, will ensure such events will never take place again? I thought we were supposed to remember history so we don't forget. I guess the Canadian government just wants it swept under the rug.
