 My PS2 plays up intermitently and i'd like to get it serviced to return it to it's former glory.

Where do i send it for a service?
I'd prefer to get it done at a Sony service agent.

Is this the best way to prolong it's life? Or just use the nearest Console service company?

Anyone had their's serviced?
How much do they charge you?

 There are not a lot of UK ps2 gamers that interact at this forum, which is why you have had no replies to this thread. If someone knew the answer they would have replied.

 It's ok, i found the answer myself.

I contacted the Sony Playstation Careline and got an exchange unit direct from Sony for half the price of a new console.
After i contacted them, Sony came to my house the next day and game me the exchange console.

Bloody good service i'd say.

 Wow they came to your house? I wish sony would do that here in the US. They make you mail stuff out to them here :/

 Sony send a courier round to your house ,next day, as long as you contact them before 4pm.

They exchange your PS2,leads and controller for remanufactured items all warrantied and to as new standard,the PS2 looks and performs as new.

BUT,i only had the console(original parts),so they only gave me the new console.That's all i wanted anyway.

The service is, well, to be honest, absolutely unreal and a total revelation, Sony really do take care on their UK PS2 owners.
