it might be your router that is blocking it.... check to see if you opened the right ports to play the game...

Well i'm doing it alittle different than most users... I'm doing this method :
Since my modem's Ethernet port isn't working , I'm connecting it to the PC thru USB Cable and Then I'm connecting the modem of the PS2 (i'm using the old model btw) to my computer Ethernet port... and then I try to share the connection , But I have to input the IP manually or else it won't work and then I try to input the DNS in it , But it just wont work..It keeps giving me a DNS Error while Authenticating The DNAS =/ I would apreciate some help thank you =) (Note- I'm using Windows 2000 Pro) |

youre connecting through a computer.
plus, is the computer ethernet port you plugged the ps2 into an 'out' port? and where exactly are you manually putting the IPs? |

Yes it is on the OUT port...and I'm inputing the IPs in Monster Hunter's Connection Editor (Almost the same as the Network Disk)

If there were out ports and in ports, you'd need to ethernet cables AND two ports on your computer just to get it online. Same with your PS2. Ethernet ports are two-way. Are you using a patch cable to go between the PS2 and the PC? A regular ethernet cable will not work. A patch cable swaps the wires in one of the connectors, thus allowing the data sent along the "send" wire (at least, this is how I understand it) to seen as the "receive" wire on the other end. |

patch cables are also called crossover cables i believe
