At the moment, sony is trying to push as many PSP units as possible. No way would they release a home console to play PSP discs. Because a majority of gamers playing their PSP, arn't really playing it "on the go", and actually at home....this would mean a drastic plummet in psp hardware sales.

Not for a few years.

My friend used to bring his PSP to school and play it on the ride home, so there are some gamers out there that use it on the go. But I can see people just buy one to play what are basically PS2 games while lounging around.

i know a lot of people who play them on the road also but mainly the reason they got one is too play the games while kicked back on the sofa or something like that

I know that once I get a PSP (and I will someday), I'll be using it for music in some walking trips (in the iPod sense) as well as gaming on the go. I'm sure to play it at home as well when I'm outside of the room where the PS2 is housed, so it can go either way.

In a related question, do you think Sony will *actively* bring connectivity between the PSP and PS2 for future games? It can always happen for the PS3 wirelessly, but what details are there concerning stuff between SOCOM 3 and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo, if any? Maybe MGS3: Subsistence and MGA2?

And to think... everyone scoffed at Nintendo when they did the whole connectivity thing, but now Sony is doing it, so it must be cool.

<_<

I don't really see how it could work in SOCOM... Maybe unlockables, a map or something, but that's about it..

Edit: Grammar/spelling

I cant really remember any link ups being sucessfull, the dreamcast linking with the neo-geo never worked out well, and the gba and cube wasnt very sucessfull either. I only think taht the psp will be more usefull because of the wireless options! see you around, lozz.

You might see a few PS2 games take advantage of a PSP link, but I think it'll really take off on the PS3, if at all.
