I just logged into Tony Hawk ProSkater 4 tonight it reads as follows:
As of January 1st, 2006 the THPS online servers will no longer be available. Thug,Thug2 and American Wasteland online servers will still be active. Man this is a huge dissapointment!!!!!!! I just got this game like 3 months ago if that. I had rented Thug when it came out but this was my first THPS to play since the first one on dreamcast. Guess I better get all the gaming online with this as I can before they shut it down.... |

Yea I hate it when games go offline. Atleast this game has LAN. I am going to be stepping up documentation on using various tunneling applications such as GIT and XLink, as well as a few others.
With the Tony Hawk series having a new game come out every year, it is not suprising that they are resorting to terminating the online service for previous games in order to force people to upgrade. Whether you decided to jump on this merry-go-round is up to you. The publisher most likely is calling the shots on this one. BluntWrapTexas, thank you very much for reporting this information. Yes THPS4 is one of the best PS2 games Ive played. Its a classic!!!! I listen to mostly rap r&b/hip hop, this was the first games soundtrack that made me appreciate other genre's. Last night there was over 50 people online gettin there skate on. Thats the most ive ever seen online. | |||
