I'm surprised to see no posts on this game in this here forum, considering the game had quite a bit of hype way back when for being the PSO for Ps2 Wink

With PSU being delayed, we might just have something to look forward to with Monster Hunter 2. Thanks to the great people at GameFaqs, I've compiled this list of new features;

- New server set-up and lobby system. When you log on, you begin in a square. Up to 150 people can be in this area, but they are all invisible. Using this area, you can join other groups. Imagine the lobbies of PSO, just without all the people, and the ability to call into the main lobby for more players.
- Updated player capacity; 4 to 10.
- New weapons accesory system, I beleive.
- Integrated Day and Night System
- Dragon Hunting is completely different now. No longer do you just join a quest and go for your kill. You have to speak with scientists who fly around the world, looking for dragons, as well as wait for the right time of day to attack.
- Hunting dragons and the money you get for it depends on how many people have hunted that same dragon.
- The INN is no longer around. You now get your own house.

Well, yea plus, with the delay of PSU we can always...play....the original Monster Hunter Wink

I would have been making noise about MH2, I just have been really busy lately. So you would have seen me getting happy about it sooner or later.

Frankly I love Monster Hunter a lot. Not just because of Online. I like these games because they have some stuff in common with PSO, they are very stylistic, and are in realtime. Plus, I think the gritty environments are perfect for the Playstation 2 hardware. The forests actually benifit from the PS2's lack of FSA (Full Screen Anti-aliasing). I flat out love this game period. I know this game won't be online forever, so to get a sequal and get more content is a real blessing.

Monster Hunter 2 looks to be a huge expansion to the original. They really are going all out on it.

I still have a long way to go on the original, so I will be playing it for quite a while.

Is this coming out to the United States? Might just get the original if the release date is uncertain.

There is no set release date for a US release. Actually this hasn't even been confirmed as a US release, and probobly would end up releasing around the same time as PSU.

Monster Hunter 2 isn't coming out for a while.

Picking up Monster Hunter wouldn't be a bad idea at all.
