My first Monster Hunter quest: Get The Game:
I already knew I couldn't buy it local because a friend who works at EB games told me it was rare etc. I decided to not take his word for it and call every game and video store within 20 miles and find out it really is rare - One video store had it. for rent I wanted to buy it so, I also tried to look on Ebay, I started to get worried as I only found a couple and there were many bids. I decide to rent it to at least give it a try, before getting into a bidding war and pay $50+? for it. Anyway... I take the box to the counter to rent it and when the attendant opened the game case, I decided to make sure the disc was clean. It wasn't. There was a big smudge on it. The kind girl volunteered to clean it for me, I thought for second that I could just wipe it off at home no problem, yet for some reason said "sure!". I wait for a minute or two looking at all the candy and stuff, then start to wonder whats taking so long? After looking around I realize the girl went into the back area. Soon the manager walks out and tells me "Im sorry but our disk cleaner ruined the disc" I was so bummed. I was seriously hyped to play it. I made her let me look at it and it was warped an had deep scratches - 
I had no idea it would be this hard, time elapsed: 4 hours The next day I decide it's time to try again: I go online researching game stores, auctions etc. I find a couple on Ebay again. Similar as last time, then I see one seller also has an online game store: Ogaming.com, I decide to check there. WHOA! what do you know they have 25 copies they happened upon and are selling them at retail! YAY - I instantly order with 2 day DHL ground. Or I guess I should say I tried to. The website will not accept my credit card, ok no problem I will use the toll free number. I get the order through manually with the operator and recieve order confirmation and not to long later my shipping confirmation - woohoo! I think to myself I will be playing the game in 2 days. Maybe its not that hard, time elapsed : 6 hours The day its supposed to arrive I start to wonder around 6 ish if it will. I track it and see its in OHIO!!!??? WTF Im back on the phone with DHL for 30 minutes navigating menus and holding. Finally I talk to someone, I explain that I was surprised to see my package in OHIO when It was due for arrival, she puts me on hold for 5 more minutes while she looks into it. "Sir Im sorry but DHL has made a mistake and accidentally sent your package to somewhere NORTH EAST" (CANADA?) She continues: "It will arrive Wednsday morning. I say Thank You and Good Bye very politely and know I will be playing soon. A little tedious, time elapsed: 7 hours Wednesday arrives. Around noon I decide I'll track it. Hmm, no new postal scan shown. Wait! What? The adress has changed! WTF WTF WTF ! I can't believe this! They changed the adress when they rerouted it! arrgh. Actually Im really getting tired of typing this now, its taking to long to even think about it now. To make this long story shorter: I spent 3 more hours on the phone and internet correcting everything with the DHL again and found out that they currently have no idea where the package is at and the only thing for me to do is wait and call back if I don't hear anything in a week! Time elapsed 9 hours. Items: none Weapons: none Level: - I hope this game was worth buying. |
