Well, I would like to restate my statement. I heard the controls are how you say "Superman 64ish" ( means crappy controls). | |||

Godhand is for people who enjoy beatemups / arcade games.
Anyone that says "such and such a game sucks" should be discredited immediatly. I have ran into people that hate on some of the best games ever made, simply because they can't handle the difficulty, or there is some other nuance of the game that they can't seem to wrap their head around. |

The controls are like great! I really don't understand why people are saying this.
This game plays like a 3d version of Streets of Rage or Final Fight. This may be why some people don't get the game, but it realy does do everything perfectly. Bloody Brilliant!! |

God Hand is definitely on my list of games to get. I freak out every time I watch gameplay footage of this game. It looks so rad. Clover Studios FTW. | |||

i just picked this up on clearance. while its a good game, the reviewer in that clip calling it "one of the greatest games ever made" is way overzealous.
i personally find it fun. the absurd, nonsensical character models and settings are a plus in this mans book. although i can see them immediately putting off many people. the combo system is almost perfect, and the adaptive AI system works well. not what i would like to have seen as clover's swan song, but will defiantly be remembered as one of the best 3d brawlers, although thats not a hard thing to achieve with the few titles and the quality there of. still, this game should not be named in the same breath as streets of rage or final fight. i donated way too much of my childhood allowance into those machines to allow that distinction.

Actually I think GodHand does deserve huge recognitions as being a great "brawler" as the term has come into play when describing 3D beatemups. Seriously, look at the other games released on the PS2:
Beat Down Fists of Vengeance Urban Reign Crimson Tears Final Fight Streetwise (don't buy this... don't buy this... don't buy this... EVER) The Bouncer Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks Developers seem to have a really hard time making a good beatemup in 3-dimensions. So based on the gameplay and overall quality of Godhand it is definatly the best brawler available this generation. The one major component missing though is being able to play multiplayer. All of the above games have 2+ players, except for Godhand and Crimson Tears. In the end I think you are right though MasterChief: Brawlers don't seem to compare to the beatemups such as Streets of Rage or Final Fight. Though Godhand is a game I will hold higher than all of the other brawlers in my personal heirarchy. It is such a well produced game, and does something new and original with its subject matter. |
