Topic: So whats the word on the next GTA? (online.....maybe?)

I read a while ago on Gamespot's website that there is a high possibility of the next Grand Theft Auto being online. Wow, that would be so great. just thinkin about it is fun. Anybody else kno anything? | |||

All logic would point to the next GTA being online for the PS2. Even though it came out for the X recently, GTA is one of PS2's signiture games. Sony would be idiotic if they didn't make it online. | |||

Ehh really? Man all the GTA stuff is getting kinda recycled....like mafia stuff over and over again. I like the original GTA3, however I didn't like Vice City all that much and Sin City seems......lame to me.
I wish the NEW GTA would be in the future! Not like start trek, I mean like Minority Report style or something......kinda like that. And it should be online also. However this probobly won't happen :[ atleast the futurism thing......but the online part might. |

Yes, an online GTA would be a lot of fun (deathmatch anyone?), and a new scene would be nice too. I mean, I understand that depraved cities based on current and past actual cities is GTA's bread and butter, but if Vice City was set in the 1980's, why couldn't there be one set in the 2020's? I agree that it'd be fun. (Though I don't mind a current/past Vegas setting; that also sounds like fun to me.) | |||

Its pitch black out....at night and there is smokey industrial gases eminating from the side buildings. You in an alley making your way to a futuristic chem lab to make a drug deal. They know your about to double cross them, and 2 mechs come out from garbage recepticals on the side and arm themselves.......you pull out your blasters and drop a fusion grenade and dive for cover. The police are on their way in hover cars coming to arrest you.....and you make your escape into a nearby substation... DUDE....that would rule...>!!!!!RULE!!!!!< |

hells yeah. shadowrun style. (which i herd there making a new game!!) gta 2 was set in the not so distant future, so the president id there
i welcome a backward progression for the gta series. a 70s vegas would own. COUNTLESS tributes to casino, one of my alltime favorite movies nad drive buys while playing "heart of glass" by blondie!!! next i heard its gonna be a san fransisco facsimily called san andres. think a 60's theme would be cool. car jacking hippies for there vw buses, and chase scene form bullit anyone? i would like to see it go all the way to the 20s, maybe modeled after bootleggin' chicago! |

I like where this is going. One side goes backward (decade by decade), and the other goes forward. You know, forward like (brace for the cliches)... Robocop crossed with Alien Nation crossed with Runaway crossed with Blade Runner crossed with - oh, I think you get the picture.

I mean come on, it's 2004 and we don't even have flying cars. |
