How far have you gotten in Adventure mode? I myself just unlocked the Yellow Cup after having little to no difficulty with the past Cups. The rubber-banding behavior of the AI is really becoming apparent, but without that, I'd easily leave them in the dust.

The story so far has really kept me entertained, especially since I have completed the Jak trilogy. If you are playing Jak X and have not played through the past three games, then many of the allusions to the previous adventures will leaving you scratching your head. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking not one, not two, but all three of the games up so you can understand the references.

I completed the first major race bracket. So I am just starting the second of the major 4 squares of races. Is the first called Yellow Cup?

The Yellow Cup is the last racing bracket of the four. Believe it's for all classes as well. You are likely beginning the Green Cup if you just completed the first bracket.

My favorite modes so far have been Freeze Rally, Turbo Dash and Death Race. It's great how you always seem to have a variety of different race types to play instead of being stuck playing one mode ad nauseam.

Playing the first one is not necessary to completely understand the story in Jak II. It's a basic exposition that explains why Daxter is an ottsel and a glimpse into how Jak, Keira and Samos ended up in Haven City. The beginning of Jak II actually begins in the world of the first game and the time travel device that took the group into Haven City.

With that said, many of the characters that are present in Jak X were actually introduced in the second game. So if you really needed to, you could start with Jak II then move on to the third game.

So, I did eventually finish the final Grand Prix, but have yet to 100% the game (I am at 95%) because I am JAKed out at the moment. Would like to play this game online at some point though.
