Earlier this past week the Playstation 2 online pack was released in all stores and online retailers. The Pack contains the most recent version PS2 system along with the online adapter.
Now there is supposed to be a revised ps2 which will support most recordable DVD media, including DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW. The Online Pack PS2 is not the revised model, the revised model is due out sometime this year possibly late summer. However these "revisions" may not be nearly significant enough to warrant the purchase of another PS2 unless any of the following strikes your interest:
-support of DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R und DVD+RW. DVD-RAM.
-Fan noise reduced significantly (30%).
-TV Output supports progressive scan for better screen quality on high-end TV-Sets.
-The updated remote control (SCPH-10420) features an eject button and can also power down the console.
No date available for the US release of the SCPH 50000.
This revised unit has already gone on sale in Japan as of May 15th for 25,000 yen. Source |
