Socom II: U.S. Navy Seals:
Socom: U.S. Navy Seals the original release, pushed the PS2 network adpter's sales to great heights like no other game has. Now with the attention received and huge success, Zipper Interactive is once again planning to make a huge imprint on the PS2 online scene with Socom 2 which according to Zipper, will be packed with new features, tweaks and improvements. SOCOM 2 will greatly improve on what was weak and strengthen what was strong, to deliver an overall better online package. Zipper listened to its users and has addressed nearly every aspect of the game, from control to mission types to solving online cheating. Look for Socom 2: U.S. Navy Seals October of 2003.

Chessmaster
Currently available from Ubi Soft is Chessmaster. Not only is this game cool because of the 3D battles the chess pieces encounter during moves made by the players, but the fact that you can play someone in chess thousands of miles away at any time of the day/night is always a plus for the hardcore chess players and ps2 online gamers alike. This to me is something that was heavily needed, its not sports its not fragging, in my opinion its quite innovative and a change of pace for online games.

Armada 2: Star Command
To describe Armada 2 in short, the devloper Metro 3D's Mark Jordan says "A2 is an action game that emphasizes long-term growth and exploration. You pilot a star ship around a large universe, blasting away at diverse aliens. You gain experience points and increase your skills. You collect money and artifacts to upgrade your ship". Armada 2 was originally planned for Dreamcast as well but due to the "death" of Dreamcast that no longer will happen. Look for Armada 2 on the Playstation 2 September of 2003.

MTV's Celebrity Death Match
Brought to you by Take 2 Interactive (grand theft auto series etc..) is Celebrity Deathmatch, "a party-style fighting/wrestling/action game starring polygonal re-creations of popular, brash, and wild figures on TV and movies, in music, and in elsewhere. Celebrity Deathmatch stars pop figures such as Marilyn Manson, Mr. T, Bust-A-Rhymes, Tommy Lee and others as they face off in a ring and pound each other into oblivion." Celebrity Deathmatch is due to hit PS2 September of 2003.

Deer Hunter
"This new PlayStation 2 version of Deer Hunter enables players to hunt off- or on-line, switching between 17 different weapons (shotguns, rifles and bows, and even off-road vehicles) and enabling hunting buddies to pair up in a split-screen co-op mode.
The online facet comprises a tournament mode for as many as eight players. For those who want the full, visceral effect of a bullet entering their prize's hide, an instant replay with slow-motion bullet effect shows the the bullet whizzing through the air and striking its target."
Due on PS2 October 2003.

Tony Hawk Underground aka T.H.U.G
(no pic currently available) Well not a whole not needs to be said here as every Tony Hawk release has been improved and better then the one before it. Expect T.H.U.G to be no exception to that rule. Only this time the gaem allows you to run on foot, climb buildings, drive cars etc.... (hmm GTA comes to mind??) hehe expect this to be a huge hit due out sometime in late 2003.

Catan
"Catan takes place on a hex-based playfield where players take on the role of settlers, colonizing a new island. The goal is to build up the biggest and best colony, gathering resources and expanding their territory, while developing a superior trading and expansion strategy to stymie the competition. Up to four players are supported, whether human or AI-controlled, both on- and off-line. An online matching service will be up and running at launch to connect players with suitable opponents." Catan arrives on PS2 in 2003.

Destruction Derby Arenas
The name speaks for itself. Mayhem can be pursued through online play with up to 16 players at a time scoring points by making opponents spin out, crash and burn, and knock themout entirely. Destructin Derby Arenas is due out sometime in 2003.

Hardware
Hardware is an arena based game looks to provide gamers with a pure arcade-style online experience. "Hardware feels a little like Twisted Metal: Black in that you can pull off relatively quick powerslides, and quick turns, but it felt like Namco's great old arcade title, Tokyo Wars, in that many of the vehicles were, well, tanks, big, heavy powerful vehicles. The vehicles playable included a jeep, tank, a buggy, and a vehicle that's based on a French VBL. While bigger vehicles were slower and more powerful the smaller ones were more vulnerable but faster and more mobile." Hardware is due out in Europe sometime this year, US release has not yet been confirmed.

Ghost N' Ghouls Online
"Ghouls and Ghosts Online is a cooperative-style, realtime action game enabling players to roam vast medieval landscapes, team up to fight evil monsters, dragon, ghosts and ghouls and build their characters as the progress. Text-based conversations and level building are a large part of the game's design." Coming in 2004 to PS2, Gamecube and Xbox.
