Ok, well umm...My friend gave my lil bro Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters Melee for Gamecube. And I got into it so much I want to get all of them on PS2 specially since I really liked the Godzilla: The Series when it used to air on Fox Kids and most of the PS2 versions have an exclusive character. Do you guys think this is a good investment? or is this just a urge?

i'd say it's just an urge, but also a good investment if you really like the game(s). exclusive characters are always a nice thing too. i dont know much about the godzilla games on ps2, but it sounds like you would have fun. Mr. Green

There are two Godzilla games for sale on the Playstation 2 in North America. These include:

  • Godzilla Save the Earth
  • Godzilla Unleashed

Godzilla Save the Earth is a somewhat rare PS2 game, and thus goes for about 17-25+ dollars on average. One thing I can say is that Godzilla Save the Earth has online, and LAN so it is online forever (LAN was only recently confirmed a few months ago)

(NOTE: Since this is the PS2 Lounge forum, lets focus any online specific discussions about Godzilla: Save the Earth in the General Online forum please.)

Gameplay wise, these games seem very very similar. I tried to find some reviews comparing what is different between Unleashed and Save the Earth, but all the reviewers do is bitch and moan about the graphics in Unleashed.

The gameplay in these games is like a vs fighting game but arena based. More like a mix between a fighting game and a wrestling game really. There is some depth there but not enough to compete with other fighting games. You tend to start recycling the same series of attacks over and over.

If you want this type of monster movie style game, these games, and another game called "War of the Monsters" by Incognito (Twisted Metal developers) are your only options.
