I've played this game recently and I noticed, that there are way less players than usual. It seems to me, that EA / Gamespy has shut down the registration servers, so no more players can register. That leads to less players and then there is a reason to shut down the gameplay-servers. Its just speculation, but I am a little bit afraid of something like that. Just bought this game a few weeks ago....

I see that the game servers are up, but can you create new accounts again yet?

No, still the "privacy-policy-wont-come-up-issue"... tested it today. No stats updates either.

they really need to fix the problem that you can't create accounts, so any remaining newcomers can join BF2. Some players may leave since stats are down but people being able to make an account to play is more important.

I looked at the Gamespy account I created with BF2 and the Nickname is like "Karlske@345B924" or something simmilar. I then created a new Gamespy-Account with my PC and typed some random crap to replace the "@3452345" thing, but the game refuses to accept the account. Even if I make a new account without the @-thing it still refuses to use the account in-game.

Good News guys! During a mapchange I got a disconnect from a server. Suddenly, my Stats were showing up! Well, all my earned medals are there now, but I still have no kills and no time played. I think that those stats are updated in realtime. Looks like the Stats Servers are running well again Smile Well, Im now not able to connect to a game yet. I will wait a little while and look, whats going on now.

cheers

I can confirm the stats being back. I actually saw Karlsuke in game as well today. But my stats didn't update fully at first. Every game I played (I played about 4 games), my stats rose a big chunk. So you might have to give the game some time for it to fully reach the amount you played while the stats were down. I think my stats are near back to normal. Very Happy

I tried that out as soon as the stats were back but had no luck. Still no Gamespy Policy download possible.
