Inevitable entertainment has been hard at work on Area 51, and we finally get some visuals to confirm. 7 new screenshots are now up in the screenshots section. The game will be broadband only for the PS2 and will support up to 16 players at once. Not only this but it will have PS2 Harddrive support and will be providing downloadable content! Also the gameplay will feature a mutation system, where picking up viral canisters can bolster the abilities of your character. Online this could prove to be a serious gameplay boost adding more tactics and exciting action. The game is slated to release fall/winter of 2004.

Man that is tight! I'm glad to hear about the use of the hard drive, too. Just by that screen shot, it looks 100% better than the previous Area 51 game. | |||

Oh man, the cheese-filled FMV of Area 51?! HA HA HA HA HA...... 
Seriously, the game managed to actually be a quality title without relying on the supposedly 'ultra-realistic' FMV. This new version looks downright marvelous. Are you sure that screenshot is of the PS2 version? Because that looks stunning, especially with the lighting on the aliens and how detailed the gun/armor look. -Mytho |

This game screams for co-op! Please Inevtiable/Midway, make this dream come true! I would even settle a two player co-op online and/or offline.
