Quick question. I have a Pal slim PS2 with the 8.5v power supply. The console does not work but I want to ascertain if its the console or the power supply. Can anyone tell me if when thier PS2 slim is powered on they can hear any noise from the power supply if you press your ear to it? The one I have is silent, could just be that they all are but in the past from most power supply's I listen to I hear at least a hum.

Bear in mind this is Pal althoug am interested to here from NTSC users if the power supplys are the same. Guessing USA voltage is lower so chance of noise less? No idea.

Type: NTSC-U/C
When you press the power button, the LED turns green and a fan starts to spin.
These indicates the power supply is properly working (no software function).
