Think about it. All the new PS2 + models do not have i.Link anymore. Its now an phased out peripheral feature by sony. All the new PS2's are being sold bundled with a network adaptor. Agetec would have NO CHOICE but to integrate the system link capability through LAN and tcp/ip gameplay.

When AC:Nexus comes to the US, it will be using the network adaptor for LAN or online play. But LAN play is now practically confirmed based on logic alone. Armored Core's networking capabilities with system link have always been the series' strong point. There is no way they would just leave the feature out. AC's core fanbase relies on it.

Seeing as how i.Link is removed from newer systems, using the network adaptor is the only logical choice. Which means if no online play exists immediatly. Tunneling is also a given assuming they optimize the code.
