Dahh i can't beleve this shit!heres what happend i decided id play thug online since i hadn;t been there in a while. I popped it in and tried to go online with it but it told me it couldnt connect to master server. I said oh well and decided to play frequency online but i couldnt play it either since it said i needed 256kb of space fre on my mem card. I figure hm maybe thats why i couldnt connect to master server on thug.

I reset ps2 and goto to internal browser to fre sum space up and i say hmm i guess ill get rid of this manhunt save and i press delete on it and the smiley face tuns into face with x's then screen flashes back to part where u choose which mem cards data u want to look at and i think odd...

i press x on my mem card again it says mem card is unformatted and i think unformatted? odd hmm.. On a computer when you format a disc all data on it dissapers nahhh wouldnt happen on mem card but it did!!! My cards fucking empty now and its drivin me nuts cus i was so close to finally beating the shithole that is mc2 now i gotta start all over again on ma vicecity,ma silent hill2,ma thug,ma gta 3,dmc,etc,etc,etc.All my shits gone and its driving me insane thinking about how im gonna get back up to 96%in mc2 ,back on v. hard in dmc,and reunlocking all the crap on thps3.Ahh man sometimes life sure can blow for me Mad Mad

Wow man, bad luck. Sounds like the Manhunt save corrupted your memory card and it had to be reformatted. Sad

This happened to me once too; but after a while i wasn't so mad anymore. I was trying to create a snapshot file for PSO on my memory card 251 (gamecube) and instead of "create file? yes/no" i got "card is not formatted. Format? yes/no" Thinking it said "creat file," i hit yes... Damn! Lost a shit load of progress! At least SSBM wasn't on that card for some reason. Neither was PSO, so that's good too.

For anyone else who doesn't have one, I heard a dirty rumor that the FFXI kit shows up on Wal*Mart.com every so often for around $40. That's the price of a memory card two-pack and less than twice the price of a single PS2 memory card. I'd reccomend to anyone who doesn't have one to score one quick before they're out of stock and impossible to find. I can see the PS2 HDD being a sought after piece of equipment years from now (probably somewhere between a DC BBA and a Jaguar CatBox in terms of demand/availability). I could harp all day on how awesome the PS2 HDD is.

I've never had a save go bad on me yet (knock on wood), but every so often back when I was working for Game Crazy we'd get a PS2 card traded in with some corrupt data on it (probably once every two or three months). I'd have to bring in my Holiday 2004 demo disc and play the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo to clear the card before I fixed it for him.

At least your card was completely wiped, and doesn't have the undeletable "Corrupt Data". One guy had a Madden save that went bad and the corrupt data was eating just over 3 megs on his card.

If you do score some type of memory card-PC transfer device, at least you could download saves for the games you had already completely beaten. And on the darkest of bright sides, now you have an excuse to go back and play some of your games again. Confused

I want to get an HDD soon as well. Mainly to play games like Aero Elite, RPG Maker, and some other games off of it. The memory card backup function is neat, but I have so many memory cards now and my PS2 collection is growing every day, that it would be slightly difficult to backup all of my saves.

One of my memory cards, a standard 8MB sony card, has over 40 saves on it. Hehe Smile

I'm extremely intrested in getting a HD now that I know theres a few "things" you can do with it besides that hdloader stuff
