Well, the day has come. Finally a movie was released showing the new FPS from Criterion games in action.

If you have or have not heard of this game, it is called "BLACK", and it comes from Criterion, who develops the Burnout series.

http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/668/668817/vids_1.html

Download the movie above quicktime file immediatly. Turn up your audio!!!!

All I have to say is holy shit. Also we already know this game will have full framerate, because burnout 3 runs on PS2 at FULL 60 frames per second. I have seen Burnout 3 running on my PS2 so I know.

Also this is proof that a guns sound, impact, and reaction time are what make guns feel powerfull and impactive. You don't need next generation hardware or graphics to make a game that can blow your mind away.

Criterion is doing it right now, and they are doing it with Black.

I should also point out that at E3 people called this game "Gun Porn". Also at E3 they did not have the xbox version on display, but the Playstation 2 version. Which they told the audience behind closed doors of what console it was running on, they were shocked.

Criterion has MAD fucking skills. Jesus....I can't stop watching this clip....

Critieron is one heck of a developer (a la Burnout 3), no doubt about it.

Is there still word (or, rather, rumors) on "Black" having online play, or has it already been confirmed that it won't? I still have hope that they'll blow the doors on an online mode eventually.

There is no official word, but Burnout is online, and criterion knows online functionality moves units. It is pretty safe to say this game will probobly have online. Only reason I am posting it in this forum, since its probobly going to have online functionality.

It would seem extremly wierd if it didn't.

Yeah, it'd be a shame if it weren't. Black definitely looks to be a perfect fitting for an online "gun pornfest." Laughing

Damn, this video is outrageously explosive. Crazy HOT with explicit content all over the place.

Back to seriousness: There shouldn't be an Xbox version, I think, seeing as the PS2 looks and performs this well early in the development process. It's got all bases covered. Even if there was an Xbox version, I bet they'd end up being identical on all levels.
