Interesting information here:
Japan's Nikkei Business Daily reports today that the new model SCPH-79000 of the PS2 hardware features a drop in weight from 900 to 600 grams. The system's AC adapter has also dropped from 350 to 250 grams. That cuts the units weight a total of 400 grams from these changes alone. I guess that means cheaper shipping for ordering the unit online? 
All jokes aside, has anyone ever considered collecting all of the PS2 hardware revisions? Maybe I am just a complete lunatic, or I am running out of shit to collection, but i have a strange compulsion to collect PS2 hardware revisions where there are significant changes. For instance I have many PS2's, and the slim model I have only has an ethernet port. I would like to track one down that has dialup and ethernet. |
