for this summer I am at home on a dial up connection. I was wondering if i could play tribes or any other gams through xlink on dialup. If i could how would I set this up?. Could I use my crossover cable to connect my ps2 and computer, while my internet comes through my dialup modem?

Although I haven't done this before, as far as I know, this would work. An internet connection is an internet connection, so it would be no different than if your dialup modem were a broadband modem instead. Of course, there is a question of how well the games would run on such a slow connection. However, from what I've heard, online play with broadband only games works fine on a dial-up connection using internet connection sharing, as long as you don't try to host games, and join games with only a few people playing. I'm not sure if using xlink would slow the connection down very much. Can anyone else shed some light?

Yea, I can shed some light. I played Timesplitters 2 and I think THUG over xlink; Timesplitters 2 I played with 2-3 other players and it worked pretty smooth and I think I played THUG wih 2-3 people and that worked fine to. I always had difficulty with my computer restarting randomly on me whenever I did it though (musta been some unknown system conflict)....
