You should accept donations here Nikon for work toward this site and services to games. I'd be willing to make a donation.

Yes Lord Nikon i was being abrasive and a little drunk, i will back off. I would just like to see another person, in charge, that can help out here, is all. I understand that it's all you. I guess what I'm trying to say is, share the power a little, get a moderator here, have another human, that you trust, to help out, that has control to do so.

I am a moderator in another forum and trust me, there's more than just me to help out and the admins are above me.

The way you posted what i said looks way more abrasive then intended and for the most part, Lord Nikon, you have lived up to my expectations more than you might think. I would just like you to join up in some tribes once a month, that would be keen.

So if there are registered people here and we hook up in mka, I can post that in the game tracker?

I was thinking its mostly just talked about games in the forum.

It would be cool to set up donations and i think someone has told Lord Nikon that before and he does enough that he's never asked or accepted donations because its something he takes care of and he enjoys that other ps2 online gamers, like me, appreciates and enjoys what he has given me the option to do here.

Play tribes.

The game tracker was a feature I came up with because I thought it would be cool for people to see that games *are* being played, despite a lack of "live" visible matches at any given time.

Which is my main reason for trying to get them in the game tracker. Still its cool for the players to see their names in print in a link from the front page.

And like I have mentioned a number of times before. Thanks to DaMan for doing all his work for trying to get the game tracker going for over the past seven months. I would not have done it and could not have done it with out you Man, eh hem, i mean DaMan Razz

Actually Snafu Organizer, you had been doing it all along with the posts in the aftergame lobby, because you accurately kept track of who was there. it could've been easy to do the same thing on the DC site, but no one posts a similar after game lobby over there for Quake 3.

I am playing catchup and finally able to address some site work. Thanks everyone for being patient with me. I had been archiving google code open source code repositories relating to games, and then... GameTrailers.com announced they are shutting down and I had to mobilize to grab some data from them as well (namely their retrospectives, and 700GB of data beyond that).

I am filling in the backlog of played games.

Users need to be registered on the site in order to be featured in the gametracker. I need to do this so the dataset is accurate.

As for games played today, besides TribesAA, I will have more to say on this in the near future.

today? It has almost been a week. I still don't get the importance of the game tracker when no one updates it for over a year that says they'll update it today. I mean it is just one game played online and if you want to see the activity then go check out the after game lobby part or even just the tribes aa part of this forum.

I spent about a half hour formulating a new response that mirrored this post, when I realised "wait a second, didn't I already address this?" Smile

Please see here: http://playstation2.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=23071#23071

I am doing the absolute best that I can with all of the duties that are needed here on the site as well as the other endevours I am working on in my life.

For instance, over at the DC site, Quake 3 Arena's config files needed to be fixed, and another user inquired about this a few weeks ago via pm/email:

http://dreamcast.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10430

I managed to get this done over the weekend. I posted a lot on the boards on Saturday, like a sweet thread on Wipeout XL on the Sega Classic forum, and I even made some time to get on TAA today. I shouldn't even say "made some time". I wanted to play, so I powered on my PS2. I consider these to be success points.

I am listening to what you have to say and taking your opinions into consideration. Maybe its a feature that should be depricated as it doesn't seem to be meeting yours and possibly others expectations. The tracker was never supposed to stay current. It was intended to be updated when I have time, and the backlog should fill up in this thread until I am able to get around to updating the tracker. That was the original intent of the feature considering the manual update process. I agree with you, the tracker should be updated more regularly. I want it updated more regularly.

I would like to get the tracker updated sometime this week. Right this minute I am trying to sort 4TB of data across 3 drive mirrors (16TB) so I can't context switch away and work on the tracker this evening. I wish I could, but my brain is occupied beyond capacity (like in Johnny Mnemonic... I wish I had a doubler, but then synaptic seepage might set in Mr. Green).

The gametracker has been updated and is current as of November. Thanks DaMan for formatting everything the way you did in the posts above. I was able to get this done much faster as a result.

Even though it gets updated inconsistantly I think the gametracker is a neat thing to have. Its worth being able to look at the stats in the tracker view and see all the games that were played.

It is important to keep in mind that the games played in TribesAA in the past 2 years reflect the most regular online gaming happening in any game that OC covers, probobly during its entire history. I have always wanted there to be this much activity over such a period of time, but its really hard to generate. I think we have managed to do a great job at both staying active in TAA and having fun doing it. *thumbs up all* Wink

The tracker has been updated. Seeing lots of full green meters there recently. Looks nice Very Happy

Thanks again DaMan for parsing this info from the after game chat thread. Also thanks to everyone to responds in that thread when a game is played. It helps out so much.
